This session with Mona, Ali, Radin, and Ryan was one of those really easy, fun family shoots.

We started up at the Michael Joseph Savage Memorial, which has some of the best views looking out over Mission Bay. The boys brought a soccer ball along, which instantly made things more relaxed, lots of kicking around, running shots, and just letting them be themselves. Radin, being the older one, was a bit more composed, while Ryan had heaps of energy, so it was a good mix to work with.

Halfway through, they did a quick outfit change before we headed down to Mission Bay Beach. The light was soft, and it gave us a completely different feel from the top, more open, more casual, and perfect for some natural family moments by the water. Shoots like this are always a good reminder that you don’t need anything overly planned. A simple location, a bit of movement, and just letting things happen naturally usually leads to the best photos.

They even took me out for Italian food after, which was a really nice way to wrap up the session.
